From: Cheri Dosh, Berthoud Pass, Colorado Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2001 17:58:01 EST I saw this after we watched meteors last night. We were at Berthoud Pass in Colorado, elevation 11,300 ft. We timed meteors at 5 minute intervals for 1 minute. From 3:00 to 3:15 am MST we saw 17-18 per minute. From 3:15 to 3:30 we saw 21 to 26 per minute. From 3:30 am to 3:45 we saw 38 to 42 per minute. From 3:45 am to 4:00 we saw 44 to 49 per minute. This time included two fire balls that lit up the mountain peak behind us around at 3:40 and one that lit up the entire ski area at about 3:55 am. There was one that shot across the sky and exploded into a blue burst at 3:33 am. We had four people looking north, south, east, and west as we were on top of the continental divide. We only got 50% of horizon to the west, and only 80% of the horizon to the east. But we had nearly 100% to the north and south. At times, we would see five to six at a time. I am not sure how to convert to UT time, I think 3:00 am MST is 9 UT. I hope this helps. Our family could not believe how beautiful they were, and how many different color trails we saw. They were red, green, and blue. The stars were really bright as up there, you could see the Milky Way, and not a cloud in the sky.
