From: Ken Kearns, Adelaide, Australia Date: Fri, 22 Nov 2002 03:44:35 +1030 Just an update from previous posting regarding Leonids. I have got a report from a member of our group who viewed the shower from a different location to us on the morning of the 19th local time, he was approx. 100 k north of our location and viewed longer thas us that night. He said he saw three almost simultaneous daylight Leonid fireballs after the sun had just risen properly at around 5.40 local time (18:50 UT 18th/11/02) and then another very bright long Leonid fireball about another half an hour later in full daylight as they were driving home!. In addition i forgot to add LM on my earlier post it was around 4.5 LM for that hour and clouds hovered around 20% to the west mostly, plus there was very thin cirrus present over about 50-70 % of that hour (below) elevation 400 mtrs ..we also saw 3 nice alpha-monocerotids between around 2-3 am local time. --- From: Ken Kearns, Adelaide, Australia Date: Tue, 19 Nov 2002 06:55:45 +1030 Leonids quiet as had been predicted for near Adelaide, South Australia, location 34? 58' South 139? 38' East observed 1.30 am to 5.10 am local time 19th nov, from normally (except for 90+% moonlight) dark rural location.
