First results of 1997 Leonids

Our radar observations of Leonids started in 1994 and we use a 42.7 MHz
forward scatter radar, with 1 kW power. A list of publications on meteor
physics and astronomy can be found in our web pages.

This year, we started observations on November 10 and we plan to end on
November 25. On November 17 we recorded about 6000 echoes, with duration
between 0.125 and 128 seconds. The average of previous days was 4000
echoes about.

We will have more detailed data after November 25, because we cannot
interrupt the recording process.
