From: Asaf Shtull-Trauring, Israel Date: Sat, 18 Nov 2000 10:26:23 -0800 (PST) For certain reasons (school), I wasn't able to observe both nights of the expected peaks (16/17 and 17/18) so I decided I will wake up at 2:30 AM Israel-time (00:30 UT) on morning of the 17th, and that on the night of the 17/18 I will have a whole night of observations. Well, I set my alarm clock to 2:30 AM. I remember waking up by the alarm, shutting the alarm clock off, and then I woke up at 5:00 AM relizing I fell back to sleep. It was still barely dark outside so I observed for an hour the dawn skies- observing no meteors, and I left to school with the hope og observing the next night. Well, the night of the 17/18 came. I invited a friend, prepared the tape recorder and clothes and everything. The skies were clear at 8:00 PM and started getting cloudy more and more. By 12:00 the skies were full of skies, but we decided to stay out and check, with hope that the clouds will clear off. after and hour of staring at the sky- I saw one single star. whoever remembers my adventure of last years leonids, might say that kast year compensated for this one. Well, I'm still dissappointed and I hope I can give you from some other Israeli what was the situation of the Leonids in Israel
