From: Kearn Jones, Adelaide, Australia Date: Sat, 15 Nov 2003 00:49:21 +1030 I did some rough and ready casual suburban backyard obs, located 34deg 51' South 138? 41' East ( Adelaide, Australia ) Teff of 1 hour 45 min saw one typical +2 leonid (slightly smoky,traveled 20*) at around 2:30 am ACDT 14th/nov/03 ( 16:00 13/nov/03 UT ) heading southwest average LM was around 4 - 4.5 ..... i was centered most of the time on Sirius (the beautiful mesmerising dog star) about 60% of sky visible. 14:00 - 14:30 UT - nothing 16:00 - 16:30 UT - one +2 leonid and two +4 Alpha Monocerotids 17:15 - 18:00 UT - nothing ---- From: Geoff, Cooma, NSW Australia Date: Sat, 15 Nov 2003 17:09:50 +1100 No Leonid trains noted on FM from Cooma on the 14th. No significant peak occured... Only slightly elevated ping rates (same for the 15/11). Noted my 1st Leonid train this morning 15/11 at 6:20am AEDST. Lasted 1 min. I have an amoury of 4 FM tuners, (all with seperate antennas) running & one scanner. Hope to record/capture persistant trains on many frequencies. Last year's experiment with an indoor antenna prove successful during Leonids 2002, so its being used again this year on 1 of the tuners.
