Mende is lead investigator of the Wideband Imaging Camera (WIC), a FUV imager instrument, onboard the IMAGE satellite (Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration), launched on March 25, 2000 at 20:34 GMT.

Research on Leonid MAC:

Fabry Perot spectroscopy of meteors, in a project in collaboration with Rick Rairden.
